"I have 4 children in the program this time. They seem to be very excited about the program. I think it is a good program and can boost the interest in Science and also in the classroom. I would like to see Mad Science continued for next year.”
- Parent, Forest Vista Elementary
“I have really noticed the students from my class that have participated have gained a great base line of knowledge to draw from when we study our units in science...such as magnets.”
- Teacher, Forest Vista Elementary
“Entertaining and appropriate activities that truly excite the kids,
the kids really look forward to the classes”
- Teacher, Bridlewood Elementary
“My son attended Mad Science last semester as well as this semester. He has enjoyed it thoroughly. He likes the hands on activities and the chance to socialize with fellow students. As a parent, I feel the program is worth keeping if there is enough interest/enrollment. Please let them know that we have appreciated their time with our children.”
- Parent, McAuliffe Elementary
“I wanted to write and let you know how excited the kids at Castle Hills are about Mad Science. I have received many comments from both parents and teachers about how much they enjoy the classes. In one class I observed, the students cheered when the instructor handed out the safety goggles, they knew they would be doing something fun. I also wanted to thank you for the in class workshops. It was nice for the students to be able to enjoy a fun presentation that reinforced the topic they were studying in class.”
- PTA chairperson, Castle Hills Elementary
"Mad Science went great today! Thank you for such a great class today, I know the kids really enjoyed the cotton candy (I thought the bubble ball was pretty cool too). While I know the combining of the Kindergarten with the 1st and 2nd graders is not ideal I feel it went really well. The biggest challenge is just controlling those 1st grade boys - and that's a challenge for all of us! I will be there each week, along with Susan... to help the instructor with the more "active" children. When I peeked in on the 3rd - 6th graders to invite them for cotton candy, they were all completely engrossed with what they were doing... really terrific!"
